Spring Concert 2005

This was our first concert under the baton of Michael Downes. We were able to welcome many new players to our orchestra, including our new Leader James Widden supported by Helena Ruinard who led the second violins. The continuing support from our loyal orchestra members is very much appreciated.

You will see that James and Helena were our soloists for the Double Violin Concerto which was well received by our audience.

Dixit Dominus was a suitable challenge for the choir which was a reprise from Michael's original audition with the choir. It was quite a daunting piece on first view, but with Michael's careful coaching and enthusiasm, the performance was, we feel, well performed, enjoyed by the choir and appreciated by the audience.

One firm favourite with our audiences (Mozarts Requiem) rounded off the evening. Tremendous applause signalled that the first concert for Michael was a great success.
