Spring Concert 2004

Spring 2004 poster Our audience seemed to particularly appreciate this concert, in view of its varied content. From Handel to Rutter to opera and music for the stage, to modern film scores including Empire of the Sun by John Williams.

The concert was a real pleasure to sing and this was reflected in the additional enthusiasm and lifted performance.

To take on a concert like this is a costly affair. Our orchestra give us exceptional value and we are always pleased to welcome back our regular players: without them singing would not be half as much fun or the performance half as professional.
However, to cover a programme as varied as the one presented, which included copyrighted modern scores (largely only availabe from the USA, with high fees, shipping costs and insurance), means we accumulate considerable costs which are met from our subscriptions, fund raising and ticket sales.

So, can we take this opportunity to thank our audience for their continued support - without them we would not be able to stage a performance of which can be justly proud and which provides, we trust, an enjoyable evening of entertainment in a local community setting.
